I will describe my career path after graduating from Shanghai University more than 30 years ago, and my current daily work as a principal software engineer at Microsoft.
I will tell you the difference between an entry level engineer, a senior engineer, and a principal engineer. My current focus is software performance, so I describe how does a company like Microsoft manage software performance in real products.
汇报人简介：
1982, gratuated from Shanghai University with B.E. in Electronics,
1984, gratuated from Nanjing University with M.Sc in Computer Science
1987, gratuated from Nanjing University with Ph.D in Computer Science
1993 - 2001, worked for Hewlett-Packard on palmtop, calculator, printer driver, as senior engineer. Published a book on Windows graphics programming which is later translated to Chinese and Russian.
2001 - present, working for Microsoft on GDI, GDI+, WPF, XPS, Visual Studio, CLR, .Net native, Bing apps, and msn.com, as senior/principal engineer.
